Introducing “Movie Title Grouper”

Do you want to comb through thousands of movie titles for hours? Me neither. That’s why I created Movie Title Grouper so that you don’t have to waste hours organizing messy movie title data by hand.

What problem does Movie Title Grouper solve–and for whom?

Movie Title Grouper is built for movie cataloguers who deal with inconsistent title data. Imagine having four copies of the same movie, all labeled differently:

  • Apocalypse Now
  • Apocalypse Now Redux
  • Apocalypse Now Final Cut
  • Acopalypse now

They’re all referring to the same film, but your database won’t recognize that because the titles aren’t identical. You could manually rename everything—but what if you had to do that for 15,000 titles? No thanks. Let Movie Title Grouper do all that work for you.

How Movie Title Grouper works

Movie Title Grouper works directly with Airtable. Just connect your Airtable account, then, tell it where the title data is and Movie Title Grouper will do the rest! Super simple. Want a closer look? Watch this video for a walkthrough.

Don’t use Airtable?
No problem—reach out at hello@bluepocket.ca and we’ll figure something out. 😉

The Results? Kinda Impressive.

Sometimes the matches are surprisingly smart. For example, it grouped Live. Die. Repeat. with Edge of Tomorrow. Two completely different titles—same movie. It doesn’t get it right every time, but when it does, it’s pretty awesome.

Ready to stop doing this the hard way?

If your movie title data is messy and you’re tired of cleaning it up manually, let Movie Title Grouper handle it for you.
